Large Crowd at the SPALECK Health Center: Inspiring Words from Andreas Niedrig and Support for the Edith Stein Hospice

What you will learn in this article:

In this article, you’ll learn how SPALECK’s employees experienced innovative health screenings and an engaging motivational talk by Andreas Niedrig at the 12th Health Day. The article also highlights how the company used this event at the health center to support the Edith Stein Hospice in Bocholt with a donation.

A full house at the health center, inspiring talks by Andreas Niedrig, and a donation to a good cause. On Friday, May 22, with absolutely perfect weather, it was time once again to raise the curtain on the SPALECK Health Day! The Health Center on Robert-Bosch-Straße served as the venue for what is now the 12th edition of the event. The day resulted in fully booked stations, enthusiastic employees, and plenty of valuable insights for everyday life. The response from the entire workforce was overwhelming. It clearly demonstrated just how highly the company values health.

From sleep analysis to flight simulators: A comprehensive program for health

At the stations themselves, staff were busy checking, measuring, and offering advice at every turn. Together with strong partners, we set up a wide range of modern screening and diagnostic options, ensuring there was something to suit every need:

  • Standard Checkups: Professional blood tests and comprehensive body analyses provided participants with a detailed overview of their current fitness level.
  • Back & Posture Analyses: During the targeted back check, employees learned a lot about their own ergonomics and received valuable tips for the workplace.
  • Innovative Diagnostics: A sleep analysis using pupillography that provided fascinating insights into one’s own biorhythm and personal level of recovery.

Anyone who needed a pick-me-up during the event could stock up on healthy, energy-boosting snacks and vitamins at the well-stocked Brainfood stand. Right next door, a special challenge awaited: In the VR flight simulator, participants had to demonstrate their balance, coordination, and—above all—core stability.

The absolute highlight: Goosebumps and motivation with Andreas Niedrig

The gripping presentation by renowned triathlete Andreas Niedrig drew a packed audience and provided profound inspiration. His moving life story, marked by extreme highs and lows, as well as his practical tips on self-motivation, created genuine “wow” moments for many in the audience. His insights gave the team plenty to talk about and provided new motivation for their personal health journeys. It was a powerful presentation that will leave a lasting impression.

Taking Responsibility: A Donation to the Edith Stein Hospice

Since health and social responsibility are inextricably linked for SPALECK, the company’s Health Day is traditionally combined with support for a worthy cause in the region.
This year, the donation went to the Edith Stein Hospice in Bocholt, which does invaluable work in supporting people. Karin Spaleck, together with the organizing team, presented the symbolic check to Esther Schwiederowski, the head of nursing services. The company is very pleased to be able to support this important institution.

A big thank you to everyone involved

A day as successful as this can only be achieved through strong teamwork and good organization. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our external partners—Techniker Krankenkasse, BG ETEM, BGHM, and Ostertor Apotheke—for their expert support.

Special thanks are also due to the Health Circle team: Gabi Mumbeck, Christiane Büdding, and Hanna Hitpaß worked behind the scenes to pull everything together and prepare for the day. We’d also like to thank Marina Pawlak from Techniker Krankenkasse for her excellent coordination leading up to the event.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the management team and the Spaleck family. Through their ongoing support and by making such initiatives possible—especially during regular working hours—they are sending a strong message of appreciation, support, and commitment to the overall well-being of the entire workforce.

Frequently asked questions

The precise design of a tension-shaft screening machine is always tailored to the recycled material. Factors such as the composition of the input material, its moisture content, contaminants, throughput requirements, and the recycling goals associated with the input material form the basis for this. Working with you, we define screening sizes, purity requirements, and throughput rates, and use this information to configure the exact machine settings—from screening panels to amplitude and machine features such as the SPALECK FineSideCOVER (FSC) or our MultiDECK technology with a split push rod. Learn more here about our ModularDESIGN+ concept, which we use to find the optimal screening machine for your material. We’d be happy to test the respective recycling material together with you free of charge at the SPALECK TestCenter.

Precise screening of the fine fraction results in clearly defined particle sizes. For example, if the fine fraction ranging from 0 to 10 mm is reliably screened out, downstream sorting equipment—such as eddy current separators, NIR sorters, sensor sorters, and X-ray sorters—operates more reliably and efficiently as a result. In addition, the system’s cleaning requirements are reduced, and higher material purity levels can be achieved. You can see a good example of the benefits of a tensioned-shaft screen in the reference video on municipal solid waste processing at our Swedish customer Tekniska verken. The video demonstrates how a SPALECK tension-shaft screen reduces the load on the downstream eddy current sorters and NIR sorting processes. You can find all the details about the project here.

The service life of screening mats for Flip-Flow screening machines depends heavily on the recycled material, the Recycling process, and factors such as the abrasiveness of the material stream. In many recycling applications, very long service lives are possible. Thanks to our bolt-free, modular clamping system, individual screening mats can be replaced quickly and easily as needed. You can see how this works in the video on our landing page for tension-shaft screen machines. You can get a competitive quote for replacement screening mats through our spare parts service.
