SCREENING MACHINES
We develop and manufacture custom-designed screening machines for recycling companies and equipment manufacturers for virtually any type of recyclable material.
Shredder heavy fractions, shredder light fractions ASR, ZORBA, Twitch & Co.: With our screening machines, you achieve the best results processing metals. To that end, we offer ActiveFEED hoppers, conveyor chutes, and—for example—scissor-type scrap chutes that are perfectly tailored to your needs. We warmly invite you to test your recycling materials in the SPALECK TestCentre.
Very precise classification using our screening machines helps you to significantly increase the recycling result. Eddy current separators, wind sifters, optical and X-ray sorting equipment are thus optimally supplied. The recycling results are impressive: BEST SCREENING. BEST INFEED. FOR THE BEST SORTING QUALITY.
For the recycling of mixed construction waste, we offer, among other things, high-performance bar screens, single-deck recycling screens, and our SPALECK 3D COMBI double-deck vibrating screens. Before shredding, the material is usually coarsely pre-screened. It is then classified by size. Typical screen sizes include, for example, 0–20, 20–80, and 80–200 mm. The screened material is then further processed using, for example, magnetic separators, NES sorters, NIR sorting, and optical and/or XRF or XRT sorters. In this video, you’ll also see how construction debris is processed using tension-shaft screens and mobile screening plants.
The processing of commercial waste (C&I waste), like metal recycling or the processing of construction waste, places tough demands on technology. With our robust screening technology specially designed for commercial waste, you can achieve cleanly separated fractions. This increases the efficiency and machine availability of the subsequent recycling steps (magnetic sorting, NES sorting, sensor sorting). You can find a video about it here.
The screening of mineral impurities (fines) and classification according to size is very important when recycling waste wood. With our SPALECK 3D COMBI screening technology, you’ll achieve the cleanest screening results. To that end, we offer both stationary and mobile screening systems.
Do your end customers demand the best compost quality? Great, because with our SPALECK compost screening machines you can produce the finest screening results all through the year. No matter whether the material is very moist or very dry – with us you are on the right side all year round. In addition, our ModularDESIGN+ principle provides you with optimal technology to, for example, prevent glass breakage during screening.
Whether it’s pre-screening, classification screening, or fine screening, SPALECK screening machines are high-performance solutions for the processing of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs). Visit our pages on metal recycling to learn how to get the most out of your material.
High throughput, low weight, and yet high demands for precise screen cuts: With our waste screens and recycling screeners, you can produce screen cuts during the recycling of lightweight packaging waste that your NIR sorters and sensor sorters can process optimally.
Economic efficiency and environmental benefits are the goals of recycling. Our screens for plastic processing will help you optimize your recycling processes. Precise separation by size, free of long parts, is essential for downstream sensor sorting.
When recycling household and electrical batteries and rechargeable batteries in particular, it is important to separate them according to battery size. Recycling companies that master this process step increase the recycling rate and the economic result. We would be pleased to inform you about our references in battery recycling.
For bottom ash, fly ash, incinerator bottom ash and IBA bottom ash, we are a strong international partner for bottom ash processors. To this end, we offer not only top-of-the-line tension-shaft screeners, recycling screens, and 3D COMBI screeners, but also innovative solutions such as the self-cleaning ActiveCLEAN conveyor troughs and specialty screen liners like the SPALECK AutoCLEAN.

More Information
There is hardly any recycled material for which a screening machine cannot be used. The materials include both heavy and light substances, with particle sizes ranging from large to very small, as well as damp and wet materials, and dusty or dry screened materials.
SPALECK screening machines perform exceptionally well in the recycling sector, the chemical and food industries, and the aggregates sector.
Here are seven things we support and promote, among others:
and hundreds more materials.
A screening machine is used to separate and classify the material to be screened according to grain size. The aim is to separate the feed material of different sizes into size classifications using screening technology. The screening machine is used to separate the material being screened by size. The screening process is also called grading. During the screening process, the material is cleanly and reliably separated into the desired screen fractions.
In addition, screening machines are used for dewatering or for quality control screening. Typical applications therefore include classifying, inspecting, and protecting, as well as separating, dewatering, and breaking up clumps.
In our videos, you’ll find numerous instructional and application videos featuring screening machines.
In recycling, screen quality is very important because it lays the foundation for high-quality sorting. Screening machines are therefore indispensable for the recycling process of most recyclable materials. The rule is: The more precise the screening, the better the overall recycling result will be later on. This is because optimised screening quality enables downstream recycling machines such as magnetic sorters, eddy current devices, X-ray sorters, NIR sorters or wind sifters to process the individual fractions in the best possible way. Screens therefore play an important role in the circular economy in the recovery of recyclable materials and raw materials.
Screening according to particle size is essential in processing and recycling.
This is because only very clean fractions can be processed by the downstream sorting machines (e.g., B. Eddy current separators, air separators, sensor sorters, X-ray sorters (XRT / XRF), NIR sorters, and LIBS technology achieve economically optimal results.
Depending on the type of screening machine, these are used for screening and classification, and are categorized according to the following particle sizes and applications:
• Coarse screening & pre-separation
• Classification screening
• Fine screening
• Drainage
• Control screening
• GMP-compliant screening
Depending on the type of screening machine, they come in a wide variety of sizes:
While GMP-compliant screening machines used in food production are generally smaller, we manufacture our screening machines for recycling in standard sizes of up to 2 x 10 m or 3 x 10 m.
There are also single-deck, double-deck and triple-deck screening machines.
Screening machines are available both as mobile screening plants and as stationary screens.
The following types of screening machines are available, which you can find in the overview:
Vibrating screens
– Vibrating conveyors
– Vibrating screens
– Elliptical screens
– Linear vibrating screens
– Banana screens
– Eccentric screens
– Setting machines (often for sand and gravel processing)
Flip-flow screens
– Single-deck Flip-flow screen
– Double-deck Flip-flow screen
Other
– Drum screeners
– Flat screening machines
– Laboratory screening machines
– Centrifugal screening machines
– Tumbler screening machines
– Drainage screens
– Wet screening machines
Yes, SPALECK produces screening machines with three screening decks.
Three-deck screening machines from SPALECK are mainly used in the food and process industries, where several fractions are required simultaneously.
In the classic recycling sector, SPALECK mainly relies on single- and double-deck screening machines, with which – depending on the machine type – up to five fractions can be produced.
Yes, SPALECK also manufactures screening machines in the color of your choice. In addition to the technical design, the machine can also be visually adapted to your system or corporate design.
Yes, SPALECK provides targeted assistance to recycling companies to help them improve their screening processes.
